WrightSpace 2026 in partnership with Presentation House Theatre
Playwrights Theatre Centre
Projects should be based in the greater “Vancouver” area and/or in relationship to MST territories. Lead artists based in the greater “Vancouver” area and can travel to PHT (333 Chesterfield Ave, North Vancouver) for their WrightSpace time.
WrightSpace is where PTC welcomes a small group of professional theatre makers to join us for a short-term residency to work on one of their projects, with mentorship, funding, and space to hone in on an aspect of their project development.
Previous WrightSpace participants have gone on to continue their research and projects in unusual performance media across genre, such as Joy Russell (site-specific poetic play research), Chelsea Carlson (recorded investigation for land and memory-based storytelling), Tanya Marquardt (a play received through audio and text messages), and Scott Button (audio drama told through podcast).
This year, we are inviting dramaturg-led proposals in a unique partnership with Presentation House Theatre. We encourage dramaturgs/creation teams who are developing site-specific performance, multidisciplinary performance, performance art or other practices which are outside traditional script-based playmaking.
