BoucharDanse was conceived in 2009 by choreographer / performer Sylvie Bouchard, who is originally from Montréal. The company is an incubator of new artistic concepts and projects developed through dynamic collaborations, an intrinsic value of the company. ABOUT THE POSITION
We look forward to welcoming a dynamic and motivated person to join our team as General Manager, who will work closely with (and report to) Artistic Director, Sylvie Bouchard, to support and manage the operations of the organization, including the productions, performances, and tours. The General Manager is responsible for the overall administrative tasks, the internal and external communication, the production, promotion and marketing of BoucharDanse’s events and performances, and the implementation of the artistic vision in close partnership with the Artistic Director. The General Manager will provide professional support to the Artistic Director, as well as to the Board of Directors of BoucharDanse.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a passionate, not-for-profit leader, with experience working in the performing arts sector, in administration and / or management.
- Is creative and forward-thinking.
- Works well in a fast-paced and open-concept environment and adapts easily.
- Is passionate about dance, or about the arts.
- Is self-motivated and self-directed.
- Values collaboration and is a team player.
- Has strong communication skills.
- Has experience in grant writing and fundraising.
- Can prioritize, respect deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Has the ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends during performance periods.
Have the following software / computer skills:
- High proficiency with G-Suite and Google drive, Mailchimp, Simple video editing skills (iMovie or similar), Basic social media skills.
Assets and attributes
- Having three or more years of experience with Arts Management is a highly desirable asset.
- Speaking both French and English fluently is a highly desirable attribute.
- Having knowledge of the Canadian dance sector is a desirable attribute.
